Action Replay Codes Guide

A lot of people using R4 cartridges have been saying that they aren't sure how to add codes to it, so I thought I'd write this guide on how to do so

For this guide, I'll add the GTA Save fix to my card.

Step 1
Download the program I've attached. Unzip it anywhere you want to.

Step 2
Run r4cce.exe. This screen will appear:


Step 3
Click File > Open. Go to the system folder of your R4, and select the usrcheat.dat file:


Step 4
Press the Add Game button:


Step 5
Enter in the game's details:


Step 6
With the game details (Title, ID, etc) still visible, press the Add Code button:


Step 7
Enter the code's name, comment (optional), and then the code itself:


Step 8
Click File > Save... to save the file:


Step 9 - IMPORTANT
In order for the codes to work properly, you'll need to make sure that the cheat.dat file on your R4 is empty. If you look at the image of our open usrcheat.dat file (step 4), you'll see that it says "Cheat Enabled", but "Encrypt File" is unchecked. Leave this as is, but make sure that your cheat.dat file looks similar to this one:

In other words, make sure it's enabled AND encrypted.

And there we have it. Congratulations, you've just added an AR Code to your R4!

This works for M3 simply too. But another thing you should include is where to place the files, cuz I know that you have to copy CHEAT.dat into the system folder on the M3 to get the cheats to work.

It says to open the files from the system folder of the R4. Not owning an M3, I wouldn't know it's heirarchy, so I left it out for any other carts

It's exactly the same, I'll check this later but i'm almost 100% sure it's exactly the same.

meh, i tried and i tried but i cant do this so i friendly ask if someone will make a cheat file for me for yu gi oh wc 2008 and pkmn platinum us version *puppy eyes*
