Post The Nintendo Gamecube controller

What is it all about...

The Nintendo GameCube controller was the controller Nintendo created for it’s forth home console; the Gamecube. it's pretty basic with its style and all and the year it was made, there’s nothing really innovative about it. It’s that but in purple that startles me in delight, its perfect in that colour, it also comes in black and Silver and there were rumours of one being white or orange but not much was said. But it looks so cute as it fits in both hands perfectly and plays games like a dream.

The feel of the controller is just comfortable, it fits in the core of your hand perfectly, unlike the original X-Box and PS2 controllers as they have like a funny tube feel, not to say that isn’t conferrable. The Gamecube Controller has two sticks on either side. One being like a grey thumb stick which I have problem sticking to because my thumb more then lightly sweats after a few minutes of playing video games, especially Sonic Unleashed on Nintendo Wii and a C stick for the camera inside games. The right hand of the buttons look unusual, it’s A is big and green and the others just look cartoony B being the smallest, X And Y just loop around the A button, pretty cool. The shoulder buttons are finger friendly and the Z button I’m not sure what the point was in that plus you have the D pad from the Gameboy Advance and a small start button, but there’s no Select button which is unusual as most of 2001-2005’s controllers had a Select button including handhelds. Apart from the downsides it still Nintendo in the technical age of the 20th century. And who could forget the trade mark Gamecube logo on that controller so accurately done.

Compatibilities

Well it works with all GameCube games, Wii’s Virtual Console games and some of the Wii’s games too.

Like these: V-V-V

Are there other additions?

Yes, as I said before the Gamecube controllers came in different colours; Black, Silver, White and orange although I haven’t seen any orange or White ones being handled by others on YouTube. There are some third party controllers that were made for the system but none of them came close to the first party modal in terms of design, button pressage and compatibility, except for the GAME made Wii controller for both the Wii and the Gamecube, it was white all over it including the buttons, the sticks to it felt forced in the middle, thin and light, but never the less, SEXY! but that broke within a month trying to play it on Soul Calibur 2, what a whore! However there are wireless Gamecube controllers that go by the name; The Wavebird as well as some third party ones though I don’t trust third party controllers for Gamecube because they’re not as perfect as the first party ones.

What is Wavebird?

The wireless technology of this baby is stunning, it looks the same but bulkier and grey because it requires two AA batteries which is very convenient. Compared to the other gamecube controllers, its heavier. There's a receiver with it as well so people can connect to there systems and the wireless Wavebird can simply take its button pressing onto the receiver and activate your commands. Saves anyone wiring around places. But it’s dead rare to find these days. You’ll more then likely find it second hand in grey, I got mine from Forbidden Planet, first hand in silver in Japanese boxing with the contents being Japanese, I am dead serious!

In conclusion

+Well the Gamecube controller is very nice to hold, it looks very cute and the buttons are really nice too. Its a controller we all love to grab.
-Bad third Party controllers, all of them didn’t satisfy anyone and are still making them and the controller itself, hardly any point in the Z button.

its a buy

7/10

For starters this is a very unique review and for that I will give you praise.

Few complaints:

1) The scores for graphics and sound should be N/A, I'll give you lasting appeal because controllers can break after so much use.
2) You said the controller was perfect and that it plays like a dream, you are contradicting yourself by saying that the controller was not very innovative and basic.
3) You only gave one positive and one negative please do more, also change the text colour make the positives green and the negatives red.
4) Also third party controllers being bad is not a good negative, they are made by 3rd partys so you can't criticise the first party controller.
5) Change the sections to introduction, gameplay and conclusion.
6) At the end of the review buy (or don't bay) in orange.

Follow these rules and it will be much better.

Yeah, "Controls like a dream" meaning that it plays games well but never the less; unnovative. I never said the controller was perfect just like a sixth genoration controller as it should be.
I believe I said more positive things about the Gamecube controller, prasing its compatabillity and criticized third partys for not being at least 90% effecient with there versions I believe I made a tiny review within about the third party controller but they're close to being the same and a little bit for the Z (I don't see much point in it) button. so two of each I guess.

Something doesn't have to be innovative and complex to be perfect and play like a dream. These 2 points do not contradict.

I love the Gamecube controllers, you could play them for hours painlessly.
And they just look cool
The Z button is good as a minor command thing, like the Map on Metroid Prime.
Some games didn't use it, while True Crime: New York City was terrible on controls, as you had to hold Z and hit A to do everything, like open a door. Pressing a single button had no effect, you HAD to push Z too :/

The PS2 controllers weren't the best, but the PS3's are oddly better. The Xbox's were massive and sucked. Still do.
Gamecube FTW

Yeah sorry but the fact that it said that it wasn't innovative but perfect at the same time bothered me.
If it isn’t innovative then it isn’t perfect technically.
