Is Internet the place to meet a significant other?

I've been on various paid and free dating sites for over a year after a break up with one woman for over three years. I've gone out on a quite a number (30+) dates. Sometimes, up to several times with one I've met on the Internet. I am not quick for the sack because I seek that common denominator of friendship and mutual values first before intimacy. This should be obvious in my profile.

I see so many of the same people on all sites for a long time, over a year. Why?

While considering abandoning the Internet to find a monogamous significant other, I am curious about other's experiences with respect to my question: What's your experience with Internet dating?

well the amount of "girlfriends" i've had over the past 10 years is astounding, i dated someone from glasgow for 11 months, dated someone from northampton for around a year and many other from various places in the UK that i never met properly. iv now given up properly on internet dating as it caused me too many problems already, iv missed out most of my teenage years due to it, so now im seeing local people instead. i honestly recommend staying local, iv only just recently turned 18, started talking to someone who works in my local GAME store and im now basically round her place all the time.

d/w dude i r speaks teh truth! yeh i have although most people dont consider thm proper girlfriends, only person you can really consider a proper girlfriend is the one from northampton as i saw her about once or twice a month when we were dating. yes i have had sex with a 25 year old (and still am ), yes i WAS engaged, but that was a huge mistake tbf and i really regret it, and yes all before i was 18 lol
